VANDEN PLAS to headline ProgPower Europe

Here’s the first news release for the festival! Just eleven months to wait!!! Justin

VANDEN PLAS TO HEADLINE PROGPOWER EUROPE October 5th, 6th and 7th 2012

At the start of the 2011 festival fans were told that one of the headliners for 2012 would be VANDEN PLAS from Germany. The prog metal masters return after nine years away and will deliver a full headline show.

Also announced at the festival were three more bands. First up is Sweden’s NIGHTINGALE, again absent for nine years and fronted of course by Dan Swano. It is anticipated that this will be one of just a few shows next year.

The other two have a long journey ahead as they both come from Australia. They are THE LEVITATION HEX, drawn from the ashes of Alchemist with all that band’s prog but heavier, with a debut album in 2012; and FRACTURE who are working on their second release.

Another band can also be announced now and that is EMPTY YARD EXPERIMENT who are from Dubai and have just released a debut ep.

A check of the website http://progpower.eu/ will show you links to loads of accommodation as well as a guide to travelling to Baarlo. It’s really easy to get there! The first headliner speaks for itself plus already there are other bands that don‘t appear in Europe often, if at all. Tickets can be obtained from the same site and have been kept as affordable as possible.

Booked so far - Vanden Plas, Nightingale, The Levitation Hex, Fracture and Empty Yard Experiment - just ten more to be named!

Prog Power continue association

Yet another great edition of this festival is over but we are pleased with the plans for next year… Justin

OnTheRail Promotions continue association with ProgPower Europe

We are delighted to announce that we will be continuing our links with ProgPower Europe for the next year. Expect us to bring you all the news and press releases over the next twelve months. It is a truly great festival and a pleasure to be linked with it.

Fughu are coming

We stumbled across the album from Argentinian progressive metallers Fughu by accident and immediately knew there was something to develop. The sound was great, the look was great - and more people needed to know about Fughu

We looked at their entire press pack and made edits to the text and gave suggestions about the layout and content. It has to be said they surpassed our thoughts and it has been a pleasure collaborating with people that are clearly very creative but also truly ambitious.

The next step - getting Fughu into Europe and in front of fans.

They will be big…
Justin

(more as soon as we have it - this is a slow burner that will suddenly explode)

Edgehill Avenue news release

EDGEHILL AVENUE return with a perfect slice of all that is good about music -

Just Out Of Sight

Built on strong foundations such as the soothing rhythms of John Poole (bass) and LaMont “Phatbeat” Melson (drums) the band then develops its own unique interpretation of a classic sound through Paul Nevitt (organ and piano) and “Hurricane” Mike McLaughlin (lead guitar).

But it is the lead vocals of Drew Perkins, who also adds his own guitar to the mix, that sets EDGEHILL AVENUE apart, his voice rich, thoughtful and dramatic.

We poured our blood, sweat and tears into Just Out Of Sight for over a year and it really shows how much we’ve grown” - Edgehill Avenue

Just Out Of Sight” is now available in conventional format and as a download. It promises a selection of tracks that continue to build the rich story of Southern Blues rock and classic Americana that the band has become famous for. EDGEHILL AVENUE have already received their fair share of accolades and this release aims to take things to a new high.

The album is getting better and better” - Home of Rock

Fans and reviewers alike agree that the band conjure up their own take on a classic vibe, modernising it whilst remaining true to the spirits of the past. Listeners are reminded of elements of The Allman Brothers, Black Crowes, Tom Petty and the more thoughtful parts of the Springsteen catalogue.

But this is no imitation - EDGEHILL AVENUE are their own band and find very favourable reviews from where you would expect through to becoming the guilty pleasure of fans of heavier music.

Music you can sit back in the sun and sip whiskey to!”

Out now as both CD and download. Review copies can be requested and the band will also be available for interviews. Please contact:-

Lemuria website goes live

Familiar territory for us, just with a new act. We received an enhanced bio which was a really fresh development of what they had used in the past. And then we looked to invigorate it and generally make it as positive as the fresh approach of these energetic Belgians deserved. We actually did this a while ago but good things are worth waiting for! Justin

http://www.lemuria.be/

Conceived in 1999, the evolving Lemuria recorded their first demo in April 2002 entitled ‘The Vault of the Witness’. It’s raw energy laid the foundation for what was to come.

After winning competitions and supporting major metal acts ‘Tales, Ale & Fire’ was forged during the summer months of 2004. The independent production enhanced the unique sound of this concept album and Lemuria delivered something unprecedented and unheard of within the Belgian metal scene. Held in the same vein as Finntroll, Ensiferum, Thyrfing, Bal Sagoth and even Rhapsody, the album demonstrated the huge progress made by the band and was embraced by metal heads and fans of other genres alike.

This release brought fame and fans to the band whilst gigs across Flanders helped generate a substantial following, with Lemuria headlining many concerts and supporting more big names such as Korpiklaani. The album sold out very quickly, even outselling death metal legends Aborted through Belgium’s leading underground distributor, and today is still highly sought-after.

The group was put on hold in August 2006 but exactly two years later Lemuria was reborn with two new guitarists and a fresh approach. New recordings were composed and orchestrated by the band and they then took on the production from recording, through mixing to mastering, such was their desire to deliver a positive new sound that still embraced their folk metal roots.

With this new incarnation, the sextet continued to write new music and started performing again in late 2008, to the delight of fans and reviewers.

But the journey continues - and a whole new concept album is in the works. Mixing heavy music with orchestral elements, bombastic scores and daring instrumental and symphonic passages, Lemuria’s new offering will carve them a niche previously untouched by any Belgian band. With plans for a new live experience, every band member’s skills will be pushed to the limit. Through rigid dedication to their art they aim to leave a lasting impression on the metal scene. And they will.

Welcome to Firebrand Super Rock

Firebrand Super Rock are a female fronted metal band from Edinburgh. But they stand out from the others getting that tag and present a full on metal sound that has been dragged into the 21st Century.

Initially we will be looking at sourcing some festival slots for this exciting band and then we’ll see what comes. Another absolute cracker!
Justin

FIREBRAND SUPER ROCK are available for 2012 festivals.

Previous appearances show that they can cut it and despite just one album under their belts they are already climbing the bill anywhere they go.

With a fresh approach to metal they will win any audience they are put in front of and quickly have the crowd screaming for more.

This is real traditional heavy metal, full of power and melody and topped with incredible vocals” - Powerplay

Welcome to EDGEHILL AVENUE!!!

Edgehill Avenue have an original take on the rich sounds of America and we’ve come in to help with their latest release. We’ll be sorting out reviews in the next couple of weeks and more.

We’ve said it before but again, we can’t wait to get started, the whole team is looking forward to our future involvement!!!
Justin

EDGEHILL AVENUE are all set to present their latest release and review copies are now available.

Their previous work has been likened to Springsteen, The Allman Brothers, Tom Petty and the Black Crowes whilst being cited as clearly original - and now you can judge for yourself.

Please let us know whether you would like to receive digital or hard copy and we will do the rest.
